The day was absolutely beautiful. Every last detail had the sweetest meaning and purpose. Jessica and Robert said their vows in the church Robert’s grandfather pastored for most of his life. The bridal suite had a sofa which resembled the same one Jessica’s grandmother had during Jessica’s childhood years and memories. Jessica added little white paper butterflies to her sisters bouquets in memory of her grandmother. Ever so thoughtful gifts were exchanged between Jessica and Robert before the ceremony, and the perfect first look was planned for Jessica and her dad, which happened just before the ceremony. As the church doors swung open, and Robert saw Jessica, his bride, walking down the isle, I had chill bumps. It was the sweetest most sincere moment. From saying “I do”, dancing their first dance, toasts which brought laughter and tears, there was so much joy. And at the end of the night, one last dream came true. Robert surprised Jessica with a getaway car she had always dreamed of! Go look for yourself and watch this story unfold.
Cummer Art Museum and Garden never fails to create the perfect canvas for a beautiful garden wedding in Jacksonville. Colleen and Mike said their vows in the gardens, on the river, on the 18th of May. They were absolutely radiant as the officiant told their love story which created the sweetest wedding ceremony as their title as “best friends” turned to “Mr. & Mrs.” I smiled behind my camera all day as I captured them, their story, their bridal party, their family, their guests. Many lovely moments were captured and painted from the viewpoint of my camera. Go see for yourself!
It was a sweetest of engagements. Gilbert proposed to Lauren on the eve of the new year. Overlooking the river and the skyline of Jacksonville, Gilbert got down on one knee to pop the question. Without a doubt in her mind she accepted.
We embraced their favorite places in Jacksonville, revisited their favorite date spots, and captured new memories for their spring engagement session. From bike riding to Bold Bean Coffee Roasters and enjoying a cup of coffee we headed to their favorite park for a picnic breakfast Lauren had packed including a scrumptious Maple Street Biscuit. Lauren pulled out the classic game of checkers where once again they played and as always (from what I am told), Gilbert won. (Though let’s be real, I’m sure Lauren was distracted with me taking photos.) The perfect cup of coffee, picnic in the park, and with a quick wardrobe change the engagement session was topped off in the best of ways, at The Candy Apple & Cocktails, the most scrumptious Engage and fabulous candy shop in town. Oh it was sweet in every way.
Now that you’ve heard the story, enjoy the photos. Their love is radiant and their love for life shines through. Here’s to love and sweet dates!
Now that you must be craving all of this wonderful food, you must add these places on your “to visit” list. You won’t be disappointed! And let’s be real, a photoshoot and amazing food? Yes, please!
It was absolutely a joy capturing Katie & Isaac’s January wedding at the River House in St. Augustine. We started the afternoon with the sweetest first look for Katie & Isaac and then headed to the beautiful streets of St. Augustine for all of the bridal party photos. It was absolutely lovely. Every last detail came together exactly as Katie had planned. The sun was was shining for their outdoor ceremony and their afternoon high-tea was absolutely scrumptious! Take a look for yourself, everything was beautiful and amazing.
There is something about life that absolutely captivates me, inspires me, and often leaves me dreaming. Sometimes the dreams are vast and wild, other times the dreams are lovely yet simple. Many may sleep to dream yet I find myself avoiding sleep so I can keep on dreaming. It’s a crazy thing, I know.
I dream of traveling, of living wholeheartedly, loving well, of pursuing life where I am, embracing the seasons, basking in the beauty of another day, the list could go on. I’ve decided to follow the nagging inspiration inside me which wants to blog more. Blogging to share photography with the world, to write my thoughts and most of all share the beautiful and sweet moments from life. With this inspiration, I plan to be back to blogging!
Two weeks ago, I followed the map to a new destination for a destination wedding. Dawn (my second photographer) and I hit the road a day early to embrace the travels and arrive in plenty of time while even adding a few stops along the way for inspiration. All in all, it was perfect. We found inspiration everywhere, happened upon the loveliest of places, photographed along the way, dined in the local cafes, talked of ice cream and donuts all weekend, and basically covered every topic of wonderful conversation you can imagine. By Saturday we were ready and excited to capture the big wedding day. (Which I can’t wait to blog about soon.) But for now, here’s to me being back to blogging starting with recent travels.
:: As soon as we spotted this adorable VW Van, it was a must for a photo background. Dawn posed, then I posed and as we decided to have a bystander snap a photo of both of us, the classic moment happened, a UPS truck pulled up right beside it, blocking it from view! You should have seen the disappointed look on our faces, you would have thought we were children at candy shops being told all of the candy was gone. It gave us a good laugh to say the least.::
::Every good road trip has detours to beautiful places. We happened upon this cute little town by taking a backroad, and while making a U-Turn I spotted this adorable place and my sense of adventure had to follow the road to see what else this beautiful street held. To our great surprise, we happened upon the donut truck we had heard about every single day of our trip! It had just relocated days before. We were thrilled and decided to get donuts but once we arrived once again, we had the moments of pure laughter from the disappointment we felt when the sign read, “Closed” and “Sold out of donuts for today”. Clearly, we weren’t meant to have donuts::
